Who we are

Nordica Locator is a Shopify app made by Variegata Nordica (Mallory Berthomé). Questions about this policy or your data: mallory.berthome@gmail.com.

What the app stores

• Your store’s address and Shopify access, so the app can open in your Shopify admin.
• Your locations: the names, addresses, coordinates, contact details, tags, opening hours and notes you enter or import. These are business addresses you choose to publish.
• Your settings, your plan, and your import reports (kept 30 days).
• Map use per month: how many map views and map tiles your store used, for the plan’s fair use. No shopper data.
• Messages you send with “Contact support” or “Suggest an improvement”, and the email address if you add one.
• Technical error reports: your store’s address, the page and the error, so problems can be fixed.

What the app changes in your store

It saves your locations and settings where your theme’s “Store locator” block reads them (app metafields). It never changes products, orders, customers, prices or theme files.

Your shoppers

“Use my location” runs in the shopper’s browser, with their permission; their position is used there to sort the list and is never sent to us. A postcode or city a shopper types is sent to our map server to find the place. The map tiles are served by us, not by Google, so no Google cookies are set (unless you choose to use your own Google Maps key).

On the Unlimited plan, “Search insights” counts typed searches per area of about 10 km: the area, the postcode or town it found, whether a store was nearby, and how far the nearest one was. It never stores the address typed, the shopper’s position, IP address or anything else that could identify them. The merchant can turn it off.

Who processes the data

Cloudflare hosts the app, the map and the databases. To place pins, the addresses you save are sent once to Geoapify, which returns coordinates; address suggestions while shoppers type (paid plans) also come from Geoapify, without anything that identifies the shopper. Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors (Protomaps); postal codes are © GeoNames. Shopify provides the store data and handles billing. Nothing is sold or shared for advertising.

How long it is kept

Locations you move to the bin are deleted after 30 days. When you uninstall the app, your sign-in data is deleted at once and the map stops working for your store; your locations are kept until Shopify asks for them to be erased, 48 hours after uninstalling, so a quick reinstall gets them back.
