Support

I’m Mallory, and I build and support Nordica Locator myself. Email mallory.berthome@gmail.com or use “Contact support” in the app. I personally reply within 24 hours. Suggestions are welcome too.

Common questions

How do I put the locator on my store?

Add your locations in the app, then click “Add the block” on Home. It opens the theme editor on a page: add the “Store locator” block and save. Most stores use a page called “Stores” or “Find a stockist”.

Do I need a Google Maps API key?

No. The map is our own, made from OpenStreetMap data, and it’s included in every plan. If you prefer Google’s map, Unlimited lets you use your own Google key (Google bills you for it).

A pin is in the wrong place

Open the location and drag the pin to the right spot, or click the map where it should be. A pin you placed is never moved again by the app, even if you import the file again. CSV latitude and longitude columns are used as they are.

How do I import my stores?

Import and export → choose a CSV from Excel, Google Sheets or another locator app. Columns are matched for you and you can change them. Press “Check the file” to see what will happen; nothing is written until you press Import. Rows with a problem are listed and can be downloaded.

Will an import create duplicates?

No. Locations are matched by your own ID column if the file has one, else by name, street and postcode. Matches are updated (or left alone, your choice).

Why does a pin say “approximate”?

Right after a save or import, the pin is placed at the postcode while we find the exact address in the background. It usually takes under a minute; big imports take longer. Drag it if you know better.

What are map views?

One shopper opening the map is one view. Each plan includes views per month (fair use). Past them nothing stops; past twice as many, the map pauses until next month while the list, search and directions keep working.

Which countries does postcode search cover?

About 100, from GeoNames. In the UK, Canada and the Netherlands it uses the first part of the postcode. City names work in every country. “Use my location” works everywhere.

What happens if I go back to Free?

Your first 10 locations stay on the map; the rest are hidden, not deleted. Paid styles fall back to Light. Upgrade again and everything is back.
